Josh Hileman

Pastor

Where are you from?

Born and raised in the Auburn, WA area, but have since lived all over the country.

When did you start at Bethlehem?

I received a call to serve here at Bethlehem in 2022. My first service as Pastor here was Christmas Eve 2023…Yikes!

What is something unique about you?

I was medically retired from the Marine Corps due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan. Oh, and I have the most amazing wife in the world.

What do you like to do for fun?

I enjoy telling people about Jesus, reading, hiking, basketball, football, and baseball, as well as hanging out with my four crazy kids. If you ask my wife, I will probably take college classes forever.

What is your favorite Bible Verse/Book of the Bible, and why?

My favorite verse is Titus 2:11 because it emphasizes that the gift of salvation found in Jesus is for all people.

My favorite book is either Job or the Book of Judges. I really enjoy Judges because it shows how God continues to use messed-up people like me to bring about His goodness. Recently, I have begun to appreciate the authenticity of Job and the real suffering he endured, and yet God still comforted him.

Grace Macduff

Ministries Coordinator

Where are you from?

I’m a native Tri-Citian.

When did you start at Bethlehem?

I’ve been at Bethlehem since I was eight years old, but I just started my position here in 2024.

What is something unique about you?

I can’t come up with just one. When I was two, I insisted on eating my French fries with horseradish sauce at a family dinner. I still love spicy foods to this day. My curly red hair? My own curls gave me the passion to pursue a career as a cosmetologist. I still work full-time behind a chair in addition to my work here at BL.

What do you like to do for fun?

International travel (ten countries so far!), gardening, biking, organizing, and spending time with friends and family.

What is your favorite Bible Verse/Book of the Bible, and why?

Exodus 34:5-8

God’s Sovereignty, love, and justice are clearly spoken to us from God’s own mouth. Though this world is uncertain, one thing is always certain: God Himself and His love for His creation.

Becky Martinez

Church Administrative Assistant

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Kennewick, WA.

When did you start at Bethlehem?

I’ve attended Bethlehem since 1991, the year my sister started attending the school. I started working at Bethlehem in October 2025

What is something unique about you?

I love going to hockey games. I met my husband because an old coworker of mine knew I liked watching hockey, and my husband played on one of our local adult leagues at the time. Soon after, my best friend told me she knew my husband from when they played hockey together in high school. Small world!

What do you like to do for fun?

Reading, gardening, hiking, and spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling, but I haven’t had the chance to leave the country since 2016, when my husband and I traveled to Europe. I love watching hockey, especially now that my son is learning how to play.

What is your favorite Bible Verse/Book of the Bible, and why?

My favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11. Although many of the Israelites didn’t live to see God rescue them from Babylon, He left them with a clear message of comfort, giving them hope and reminding them that He knew their future and that they would prosper. There was a year when I really struggled, and I couldn’t explain it, but this verse kept popping up over and over again in my life. I would hear it in podcasts I listened to, in devotions I read, in conversations I had. I know it was God winking at me and telling me that even though I couldn’t see the future, He could, and I was able to find hope and comfort in that.
