What We Believe
We Are:
Christians.
Our lives and faith are centered around Jesus, the crucified and risen Savior. We are also Lutherans. As Lutheran Christians, we align ourselves with the gospel-centered teachings of Martin Luther, focusing on God’s grace, the invaluable gift of faith bestowed upon us, and the Scriptures that guide our lives and work in meaningful ways. Specifically, Bethlehem is a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregation. Please visit the LCMS website to learn more about what it means to be Lutheran.

We Confess:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth,
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father ,He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.
The words of the Apostles’ Creed above, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creed, have served as a summary of scriptural belief since the earliest days of Christianity. They summarize what Christians have always confessed when gathered around God’s Word in the name of God’s Son—and they are the truths that we believe, teach, and confess at Bethlehem.
What We Believe
The Gospel
Bethlehem Lutheran Church is all about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. This message tells us that God is not angry or distant from his people. Instead, through Jesus, we see that God is kind, forgiving, loving, and genuinely cares about all people.
Grace Alone
God’s incredible love for the world is endless, even in the face of our sins. In an extraordinary act of undeserved mercy, He sent His Son, Jesus, to love the unlovable and rescue the ungodly. Through His suffering and death, Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for every person, securing forgiveness and eternal life for all. It is the greatest redemption story of all time!
Faith Alone
We believe that grace alone is given to those who have faith in Jesus’ life-saving and life-giving works. The Holy Spirit instills faith in our hearts and leads us to believe in the Gospel.
Scripture Alone
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals the Law and the Gospel. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
